Dave Nagy, CPA
Dave is a creative CPA, tax expert, M&A adviser, and general business consultant to technology companies. He has spent his entire public accounting career helping companies grow, and his broad expertise and fresh perspective have made him a go-to resource for tech founders who want to buck the status quo.
Outside the office, Dave spends time with his family, runs obstacle races (slowly), and listens to business books while doing small home construction projects (badly).
Some accomplishments
- Launched Nagy & Associates P.A. in 2002 with little money and zero clients, and built it to seven employees, about as big as an accounting firm gets without taking on partners. Merged with another firm in 2014 to make way for SoftwareCPAs.
- Served as the outside CPA for four different Inc. 500 award winners, all in the technology segment.
- Developed and launched ReasonableCompensation.com, a tax software program for other CPAs.
- Chaired the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants' Small Firm Networking Group.
- Founded the Technology Forum of Delaware and served ten years on its board.
- Recognized in the Journal of Accountancy (June 2012) as a "Generation Next" CPA. Published in Accounting Today.
- Helped several entrepreneurs buy companies and, when the time was right, sell them.

SoftwareCPAs' accountants, tax advisers, and consultants are experienced, friendly, and professional. We use a mix of internal staff and flexible outside contractors so that every client gets a team that fits their needs. All of the work is managed closely by a vested partner.
The stack we live in
QuickBooks Online, Stripe, Chargebee, Gusto, ConnectWise, HubSpot, Salesforce, Carta. If your company runs on it, we have probably reconciled it.
